Project 1

Our first goal is to establish the consortium infrastructure for a multi-institutional research team of scientists, clinicians, and ovarian cancer consumer advocates to initiate a research plan and formalize member interactions.

Project 2

We will conduct a demonstration project using multi-omic platforms to characterize ovarian cancer precursor lesions compared to established ovarian cancers. This will help us to learn about the transition events that occur when a precursor lesion becomes an invasive cancer.

There are many sophisticated platforms that are now available to provide a more detailed analysis of both precursor lesions and invasive cancers. Using high depth sequencing of both DNA and RNA will allow for a detailed description of the precursor and invasive tumor subtypes. These approaches also have the ability to identify new treatment opportunities for early stage disease.
